Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Pacific Islands Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (PI-GWEP), located at the Kuakini Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. 

MONTHLY SALARY RANGE:  $5,597 - $5,781/Mon. 

DUTIES:  Program coordinator provides coordination and support for all grant activities. Maintains all necessary communications with the funding agencies and is responsible for submitting all appropriate reports, data, and grants in a timely manner to the funding agency. Coordinates all training activities for the grant. Provides technical assistance and guidance to faculty, trainees and students, and interdisciplinary teams (IDT) in clinical training settings. Reviews objectives from the grant proposals, including projected timelines and organizes the work so that objectives are met for specific programs assigned to the Coordinator. Coordinates the grant objectives, including organizing conferences, and other educational sessions. Obtains and organizes the reporting of the evaluation of educational activities. Collects and reports data on the number and types of trainees. Participates in annual program planning activities for the center. Provides assistance to the Program Director with grant writing, program evaluation, and reporting activities related to the grant program(s).

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: 

EDUCATION

Master`s Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Social Work, or Nursing. (Master`s candidates may apply but must submit evidence of Master`s completion within 90 days of hire.).

EXPERIENCE

Two to four (2-4) years of professional experience in strategic planning, project review and evaluation, grant writing, report writing and planning, implementing and coordinating educational activities, and supervision.

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge about health systems. Knowledge of current community agency services available and adult educational principles. Knowledge of working principles, methods, and techniques of an interdisciplinary framework.

ABILITIES & SKILLS

Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional ability to communicate effectively and to be organized and work effectively with professional staff, organizations in the health field, and the community at large. Ability to provide supervision to staff and delegate tasks effectively. Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and teleconference technologies. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check. Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire and re-certify every twelve (12) months. 

POLICY/REGULATORY REQUIREMENT

As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies, procedures, and trainings and, as applicable, subject to the University of Hawai‘i's Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program HIPAA/PHI privacy and security policy and the Kuakini Medical Center HIPAA/PHI privacy and security policy. Violation of the RCUH's, the UH's, or the business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.). Must complete the University of Hawai‘i's Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training and the Kuakini Medical Center HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training immediately after hire or not later than employee`s initial exposure to HIPAA/PHI. Must maintain a current status on the University`s and/or the business entity's training requirements.

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:    

Experience working with the chronically ill, their families, healthcare providers, and service providers within the community. Highly motivated self-starter that needs no supervision and is highly organized. Ability to multi-task and set priorities when working on several projects at once. Ability to work and communicate effectively with different groups of people (i.e. physicians and other health professionals, community and business professionals, paraprofessionals, patient groups, caregivers, and students). Knowledgeable and experienced in forming and maintaining collaborative partnerships with health organizations, community agencies, and educational institutions.
