SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Tests all aspects of electrical components, equipment, and systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use. Troubleshoots Units Under Test (UUTs) down to the electrical component level. Designs and develops Automated Test Equipment (ATE) / Specialized Test Equipment (STE) software and hardware as well as test procedures and work instructions. Applies principles and techniques of electrical engineering to accomplish goals. Familiar with a variety of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under the supervision of a senior or lead electrical engineer. A modest degree of creativity is required. The duties listed above are intended only as a general illustration of the various types of work that may be performed. Education: Associates Degree from an accredited two-year college or university program in one of the following; Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or Electro-mechanical Technology.
Experience: Minimum 5 to 7 years experience in testing / characterization of RF and/or digital circuits. (Experience may include instructional and other supervised experience sufficient to provide skills necessary to perform the duties / responsibilities).
Abilities, Knowledge, and Skills: Knowledge of Microwave / RF test equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, signal generators, etc.), digital / electronic test equipment (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.), and various PC skills, including knowledge of the Microsoft Office Professional Suite. Will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
