PURPOSE 

Assumes responsibility for the overall operation and effective management of the branch. Provides leadership and direction, ensures equitable treatment and development of employees. Oversees each staff member`s functions regarding lending, account services and teller functions. Be supportive of the Credit Union`s Vision and Core Values. This position will be actively involved in the community. 

FUNCTIONS 

• Responsible for personal and staff member marketing of the credit union and knowledge of all services offered to a degree that will enable answering questions or referring members for specific services. 

• Responsible for providing supervision, service and sales, member marketing and leadership of the assigned branch. Assigns work and directs staff to uphold service and sales expectations. 

• Must have the ability to meet established goals and report progress to management as required. 

• Maintains a superior level of knowledge and procedural expertise in all Credit Union products and services, interacts with employees and members, provides staff members with positive and professional leadership, and follows all state and federal laws and regulations. 

• Responsible for holding regular meetings with staff to exchange information, receive feedback and encourage a team environment. Create a positive work environment to help in employee retention. Conducts frequent meetings with employees to discuss areas needing improvement, procedure changes, education and training. Coach employees to deliver superior service to all Credit Union members. 

• Monitors costs of operations within community office operating budget. Submits proposed budget and capital expenditure requests as required. Advises supervisor of requirements in regard to equipment or facilities that may enhance and/or increase efficiency. Maintains and inventory of office supplies. 

• Authorizes exceptions to normal policy or procedure when circumstances warrant and deviation supports good member relations and/or good business practices. 

• Refers loans and/ or denial to Consumer Loan Center. 

• Responsible for the overall management of assigned branch. 

• Responsible for performing file maintenance on information received from members. 

• Responsible for the administration and reporting of security and risk management. This includes the safety of members and employees, the protection of all negotiable items, optimizing cash fund levels, and protection against internal/ external fraud and account abuse. 

• Responsible for the supervision of the branch staff levels. Interviewing, hiring and termination skills are required. 

• Delegates various operational duties to employees, while retaining overall administrative duties that pertain to the assigned branch. 

• Performs other duties and functions as assigned. 

PREREQUISITES FOR THE POSITION 

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Business degree is desirable. 

• Minimum Experience: Six years in a progressively responsible position with a financial lending institution, with five years` experience in consumer lending and loan administration, with five years supervisory experience. Must have necessary experience and background knowledge to manage a fullservice community office and be able to deal effectively with employee and member relation matters. Prior experience with MVFCU may be considered in lieu of a portion of the above. 

• Personal Characteristics and Skills: Must be a proven leader in a team environment. Must have a positive outlook and be able to create a positive atmosphere daily. Must be comfortable with developing and maintaining a positive sales and service environment. Must have excellent leadership, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills to succeed. Must practice confidentiality and have the proven ability to make sound decisions. Must be able to take direction and seek counsel of management as necessary. Must have continuous use of initiative, ingenuity, and creativity in identifying member needs, solving member problems and in actively cross-selling credit union services and products. Must have knowledge of credit union policies and services, and state and federal regulations. • Working Conditions: Must have continuous alertness, precision, and concentration to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of documents and transactions. Occasional travel is required, irregular or extended hours possible. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Extended periods of standing or sitting.
