UPWARD BOUND PROGRAM ASSISTANT (MAUI) – ID# 225683.

Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the University of Hawai‘i Maui College (UHMC), TRIO Upward Bound Program, located in Maui, Hawai‘i.  Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. 

MONTHLY SALARY RANGE:  $4,000 - $4,160/Mon. 

DUTIES:  Assists with procurement for Upward Bound events, staff, and student travel. Manages the overall student filing system, documentation, and processing of new program applications. Assists with electronic database processes. Assists with the administrative duties. Maintains accurate documentation of program activities and students` attendance at all events. Maintains and files documents in student folders. Updates student information to ensure all information is correct and up to date. Assists with various program activities for student and families. Assists with developing newsletter and other publications and mailers.Assists with maintaining and tracking student data for the annual performance report. 

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: 

EDUCATION

Associate`s Degree from an accredited community college. (High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and at least two (2) years of related work experience may substitute for an Associate`s Degree).

EXPERIENCE

Two to four (2-4) years of experience with data systems, administrative responsibilities, and computer programs (Microsoft Office Products – ACCESS, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 

KNOWLEDGE

General procurement knowledge.

ABILITIES & SKILLS

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Proficient in personal computers and the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point. Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills.  Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check. Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months.

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:   

Bachelor`s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university.
