Job Description:

Assists in the production of new accounts and the retention of existing accounts in the underwriting and coordination of commercial accounts with various insurance companies as well as surplus brokers. Provides technical and clerical support for the Producers/Agents. Maintains client contact regarding coverages, policy changes, etc. Provides prompt, efficient, high-quality service to designated accounts in support of Producer activities.

Qualifications: 

Ideal candidate will reside on the island of Kauai and need to have or be able to obtain, within 3 months of date of hire a State of Hawaii Property-Casualty insurance license. License is required to discuss or place insurance as required by the State Department of Insurance. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to handle multiple tasks. Requires working to established procedures and meeting deadlines. Maintains knowledge of underwriting criteria for carriers represented by the agency. Must be able to work independently with little supervision and have good problem-solving skills. Must have the ability to understand policy forms, rating and coverage descriptions. Demonstrated customer service skills and basic knowledge of computer programs. Type 30 – 45 wpm. High School Diploma required. At least 2-3 years of experience in insurance industry highly preferred. Other duties as needed for the position. This position requires you to be located in the State of Hawaii. No relocation. Starting salary will be based on previous experience within the insurance industry.
