Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Corporate Services Department, Research Corporation of the University of Hawaiʻi (RCUH) core staff, located in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.
MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $5,800 - $6,800/Mon.
DUTIES: Collaborates with departments to ensure smooth coordination and execution of projects. Executes various projects and initiatives for the Executive Office and Corporate Services Department, which may include training course development, policy review, annual report development, external/internal surveys, etc. Assists with finding efficiencies and documenting procedures in internal operations. Oversees training compliance for RCUH employees. May oversee interns/student employees. Develops and executes planning for internal and public events, such as site visits, webinars, seminars, conferences, meetings, luncheons, forums, and focus groups, including assisting with selection of subject matter experts; coordinating logistics and catering; soliciting bids, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships; envisioning creative elements; managing guest lists; and ensuring a seamless experience for attendees. Manages event setup, breakdown, and clean-up operations. Drives to offsite events as needed. Gathers, analyzes, and reports on data that evaluates training, public events, and other initiatives supported by RCUH; applies lessons learned to future events. Develops and refines internal procedures to guide future events. Collaborates with core staff to gather information, identify communication needs, and develop key messaging content for target audiences. Reviews external communications before release. Manages and maintains RCUH's digital communication channels, including the website, social media platform, and email campaigns, to ensure consistent branding and impactful messaging. Manages all requests for information and maintains the Uniform Information Practices Act (UIPA) Record Request Log.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
Bachelor`s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Business, Project Management, Communications, English, Learning Design and Technology, Journalism or a related field of study that provides skills and training necessary to perform major functions and duties of the job.
EXPERIENCE
Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in communications/marketing, project management, or event planning.
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat/Pro, WordPress, Google Forms, and Mailchimp. Strong knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations regarding accessibility standards. Knowledge of basic social media standards.

Must have a positive attitude, demonstrated customer service performance, and excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Must have a strong command of English grammar and demonstrated ability to proof and edit material. Must be detail-oriented with a strong ability to multi-task, plan, organize, and coordinate daily activities in a fast-paced work environment; learn quickly; produce work that meets high professional and quality standards; work well with people from diverse fields and backgrounds; and adhere to RCUH Statement of Values. Must have excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Self-starter who demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness, flexibility and creativity, and can exercise professional and administrative authority, sound judgment, and ethical conduct. Committed to protecting sensitive data and maintaining confidentiality. Has a strong digital literacy and is proficient in using various technology tools. Must possess a valid driver`s license (and if use of personal vehicle on the job is required, must also have valid personal driver`s insurance equivalent to Hawai‘i`s No-Fault Driver`s Insurance) and maintain throughout the duration of employment. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check for working with highly confidential and sensitive information which includes being fingerprinted and having a federal background check performed. Must be able to complete the UH Title IX training within 30 days from date of hire, and re-certify annually. Must be able to complete the EEO/Sexual Harassment Prevention and Workplace Violence Prevention training within 30 days from date of hire, and re-certify annually. Must be able to complete the Hawai'i State Ethics Code Training within three (3) months from date of hire, and re-certify every four (4) years. Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months.
PHYSICAL/MEDICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift and carry up to thirty-five (35) pounds unassisted. Must be able to travel for business. Occasionally drives to offsite appointments, events, food establishments, supply stores, etc. as necessary.
POLICY/REGULATORY REQUIREMENT
As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies, procedures, and trainings and, as applicable, subject to University of Hawai‘i's and/or business entity's policies, procedures, and trainings. SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in a university or research administration setting. Experience in interviewing and scriptwriting. Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Zoom. Experience with the RCUH Financial Portal. Advanced degree or certification in Project Management. Knowledge of the Uniform Information Practices Act (UIPA). Knowledge of RCUH policies and procedures. Previous experience with creative design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Canva).
