UPWARD BOUND OFFICE COORDINATOR – ID# 226091.

Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the University of Hawai‘i Maui College (UHMC), TRIO Upward Bound Program, located in Maui, Hawai‘i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. 

MONTHLY SALARY RANGE:  $4,100 - $5,500/Mon. 

DUTIES:  Provides comprehensive administrative, operational, and programmatic support to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the Upward Bound program, which serves approximately 205 low-income and first-generation students across seven high schools. Oversees daily office operations, manages complex scheduling and communication needs, supports compliance and federal reporting requirements, and assists with financial and grant-related processes. Plays a key role in coordinating program activities, supporting student services, engaging with families and school partners, and ensuring adherence to institutional, state, and federal TRIO regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, student-centered environment. Occasional evening and weekend work required for events, recruitment, and program activities. Summer program participation may require extended hours, residential program support, and increased scheduling demands. 

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: 

EDUCATION

Associate`s Degree from an accredited community college.

EXPERIENCE

Three to five (3-5) years of progressive administrative experience.

KNOWLEDGE

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and database systems.

ABILITIES & SKILLS

Ability to learn new software tools. Demonstrated ability to manage complex workflows, multitask effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with low-income, first-generation, and culturally diverse populations. High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment. Post Offer/Employment Condition:  Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check. Must be able to complete the UH Title IX training within 30 days from date of hire, and re-certify annually. Must be able to complete the Workplace Violence Prevention training within 30 days from date of hire, and re-certify annually. Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months. 

POLICY/REGULATORY REQUIREMENT

As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies, procedures, and trainings and, as applicable, subject to University of Hawai‘i's and/or business entity's policies, procedures, and trainings.   Violation of RCUH's, UH's, or business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.). 

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:   

Bachelor`s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university. Experience preferably in educational programs or grant-funded environments. Experience with TRIO programs or federal education grants. Advanced knowledge of federal TRIO regulations, FERPA, institutional compliance requirements, or K–12/college access procedures. Experience in data systems used for reporting, tracking, or APR preparation.
