Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), Hawaiʻi Center for AIDS (HICFA), located in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.
MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $4,264 - $7,083/Mon.
DUTIES: Independently receives, collates, and presents data requested by the ISCORE-RC (IDeA States Consortium for Clinical Research-Resource Center) regarding the state of multi-center clinical trials/research conducted at JABSOM, the University of Hawaiʻi (UH) and from participating institutions and schools conducting such research, including Queen`s Health System (QHS), and Hawaiʻi Pacific Health (HPH). Provides data management and biostatistical support for the Hawaiʻi Center for AIDS (HICFA). Performs biostatistical data analysis for grant proposals and research studies conducted by HICFA. Serves as HICFA`s primary liaison and super user of the Clinical Trials Management System, OnCore, used by HICFA to collect metrics data and manage clinical trials. Advises investigators of data required to achieve protocol objectives. Assists with HICFA`s catalog of protocol and regulatory documents on the HICFA server. Assists in creating and updating the HICFA website.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
Master`s Degree from an accredited college or university in Biostatistics or related field.
EXPERIENCE
Two to four (2-4) years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for clinical biostatistics and data management.
KNOWLEDGE
Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of computerized databases and biostatistical programs as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies. Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with computerized databases and biostatistical programs.

Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, and apply word processing software. Demonstrated ability to provide data management oversight. Demonstrated ability to perform database programming. Demonstrated ability to multitask. Demonstrated abilities in good writing and compositional skills. Demonstrated ability to design and interpret clinical research protocol biostatistical requirements. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Post Offer/Employment Conditions: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check. Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months.
PHYSICAL/MEDICAL DEMANDS
Demonstrated ability to lift and carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds unassisted.

As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies, procedures, and trainings and, as applicable, subject to the University of Hawai‘i's Hawai‘i Center for AIDS (HICFA) HIPAA/PHI privacy and security policy. Violation of the RCUH's, the UH's, or the business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.). Must complete the University of Hawai‘i's Hawai‘i Center for AIDS (HICFA) HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training immediately after hire or not later than employee`s initial exposure to HIPAA/PHI. Must maintain a current status on the University`s and/or the business entity's training requirements.
SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:
At least two (2) years of biostatistical working experience in HIV, COVID, or other health-related fields. At least two (2) years of experience working with Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) and/or Electronic Medical Records (EMR). At least two (2) years of experience working with Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) or similar statistical analysis software.
