We are seeking an Assistant Controller to work with a fully integrated Timberline (Sage) accounting system. APB Construction Corp. is an established locally owned ABC licensed industrial and mechanical contractor located in Campbell Industrial Park, Kapolei, Hawaii.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting and the department and providing the Treasurer with necessary assistance as needed.

RESPONSIBLITIES: 

1. Manage the accounts payable, billing and payroll functions to ensure all transactions are accurate, timely and in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

2. Cross train in accounts payable, billing and payroll functions to ensure backup capacity.

3. Periodic review of the general ledger and reconciliation of various accounts including job cost.

4. Preparation of general excise tax returns.

5. Collection of past due accounts receivables.

6. Maintenance of the cash report and assist in cash management as needed.

7. Preparation of accounting schedules to support the annual CPA review.

8. General assistance in daily operations, contributing to the smooth and efficient functioning of the accounting department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or relevant field is required.

2. Minimum of five (5) years' experience in accounting or related field.

3. Experience in supervising accounting personnel.

4. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

5. Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving.

6. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

7. Effective communications (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

8. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

9. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Timberline a plus.

10. Self Starter.

11. CPA or relevant certification a plus.
