Hana Enterprises is currently recruiting for Part-time Security Watch Standers aboard the NOAA Ship Oscar Elton Sette located at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam [JBPHH$24.30 hourly rate$ 4.93 Health and WelfarePosition OverviewAs a Security Watch Stander, you will play a critical role in safeguarding federal vessels and ensuring the safety and security of personnel, assets, and information on board. Operating as the first line of defense, you will monitor, patrol, and respond to security threats and incidents, thereby contributing to the overall security posture of the vessel.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe security watch standers shall provide hourly security rounds, inspecting all spaces of the ship (excluding staterooms)The security watch standers are required to contact the designated OOD, duty engineer or XO/CO if any unusual events occurThe watch stander conducting security rounds shall log all rounds and any unusual events in the vessel's security watch logEnsures only authorized persons are allowed on ship and logs arrival and departure of any approved visitorsEnsures the piers and gates are secureIn the case of an emergency, the security watch stander will be able to sound the ship's general alarm and operate the Public Announcement systemWhen not making rounds, the security watch stander will be present on the bridge and be alert to their surroundingsThe security watch stander shall be required to answer the ship's phone and will do so in a polite and professional manner. They will also be required to carry a phone when not on the bridge, to maintain communications (personal/company issued cell phone, etc).The security watch stander will perform morning and evening colors as directed by the shipSecurity watch standers will present themselves for their watch in sufficient time to be briefed on any changes to the routine or special instructions from the off going watch. Approximately 10 minutes may be required to exchange the watch and transfer informationSecurity watch standers will not depart the ship without being properly relieved following their watch.Working ConditionsThis position involves working rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to provide 24/7 security coverage on the vesselThe role requires working in various weather conditions and environments, both indoors and outdoors, on board a vessel at seaThe security sentry must adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries while on dutyGood general health and physical fitness including ability to climb ladders, negotiate narrow passageways, and transit other areas of the ship as required for security roundsRequirementsMust be a US citizen and at least 21 years of ageHigh School Diploma or equivalentFluent in reading, writing, and speaking EnglishMust be able to climb up and down narrow stairs and ladders, crawl in small spaces, stand, walk, bend, crouchClean background, history free of arrests or other criminal activityMature judgmentReliability and dependabilityTactfulness and self-controlAbility to observe, recall, and reportAbility to retain composure and perform under pressure, and to know when to call for assistanceAbility to meet and deal effectively with the public and with visiting dignitariesAbility to give instructions clearly and concisely, firmly and diplomatically.HENT is an EEO Employer: D/V/M/F#J-18808-Ljbffr
