Nursing Assistant DutiesPerform a variety of nursing care duties within the scope of practice, ranging from routine to moderately specialized in nature within patient-care units such as clinics, wards/nurseries.Change linen, position and turn bedridden patients.Assist with feeding patients requiring help, monitor intake and output, monitor tube placement and line placement while moving patientProvide assistance to a professional nurse in the care of inpatients ranging from routine to seriously ill.Provide assistance to a doctor during examination and treatment in areas by the bedside, clinics, examining rooms, and minor surgical procedures.Set up equipment and instruments for routine and complex examinations and procedures.Answer signal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine patients' needs.Assist with retrieving medications from the pharmacy and delivering specimens to the laboratory.Greets and direct visitors and answers telephone.Obtain basic history, physical information, and chief complaint for patients visiting ambulatory clinics.Reinforce patient education and instructions.Perform EKGs, throat, nasal and/or wound cultures, dressing changes, ear irrigation, and application of bandages.Maintain adequate supplies in patient care areas, labels specimens, monitors stock levels and expiration dates of supplies and equipment and replenishes.
