Hiring Unit: C OF NAT SCI, DEPT OF PHYSICS & ASTRONOMY

Location: UH at Manoa

Salary: $26.69/hour

Full Time/Part Time: Full-time

Temporary/Permanent: Temporary

Other Conditions: Limited to 89 days of employment. Appointment to begin approximately late August 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job duties will be Performing supervised technical laboratory work relating to experimental physics research, including fabrication, assembly, testing, and calibration of experimental apparatus; maintenance and repair of scientific equipment, maintenance of laboratory supplies and inventory.

Minimum Qualifications

B.S. equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; 1 year of experience as a lead laboratory technician designing and fabricating instruments, troubleshooting programs, and analyzing datasets.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience scripting automated training/evaluation workflows with parallel multi-GPU on the Koa HPC; creating Bush scripts to standardize SLURM jobs; developing systems involving YOLOv8 classification, generating large data sets using Roboflow, Python scripts, and SAM2
