Duties

You will prepare lesson plans, training materials, including visual aids for the development of learning through classroom and/or on-the-job situations.

You will teach basic trade theory, including but not limited to, the principles, concepts, terminology, processes and practices of the trade and information regarding safety, tools, weld documentation, equipment and materials.

You will schedule and coordinate practical training as closely as possible with the progression of learning the elements of the trade theory.

You will counsel employees on the day-to-day problems involving trade theory, trade practices and other related information.

You will maintain records and prepares reports, as required, of progress and performance of each trainee.

You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

This position may require for Selectee to be willing and able to accept a temporary promotion/reassignment not to exceed one year.
