Description:

Join to apply for the PCA Technician role at Daifuku .Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance and basic adjustments on pre‑conditioned air (PCA) units. This position will also troubleshoot and repair passenger boarding bridge components with a focus on PCA units.ResponsibilitiesConduct daily and periodic shift inspections, cleaning, and diagnostics of PCA mechanical/electrical system components based on an established scheduled preventive maintenance program.Assist in electrical and mechanical adjustments to PCA units.Monitor system operation; diagnose equipment failures; ensure equipment runs safely and efficiently.Perform preventive maintenance to include, but not be limited to, motors, condensation pumps, bearings, filters, dryers, hoses, connectors, drains, and thermostats.Dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment or machines for stock replacement and/or to restore operational status, using soldering and brazing skills.Work in tight and/or high spaces using appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.Follow and comply with company and federally established policies and procedures.Utilize a computer for communications, training, and administrative processes.Complete forms associated with work assignments according to established procedures.Provide direction, guidance, and expertise to other personnel assigned to maintenance and repair activities; conduct training and mentoring responsibilities; assign tasks; assist other employee groups as directed by senior personnel.Read and interpret repair manuals, basic schematics, and supervisor/manager instructions.Complete all applicable training courses assigned by the company.Assist technicians with basic maintenance such as sweeping, cleaning, greasing, clearing jams, and moving tubs.Complete all safety training assigned by the company.Comply with all company safety programs, policies, and procedures.Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time.Work a non‑traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.QualificationsHigh School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).Minimum 3 years of previous mechanical or electrical experience and 1+ years of PLC Logic and HVAC controls experience.Minimum 3 years of previous basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experience.Must have valid EPA Section 608 Universal refrigerant handling certification.Preferred QualificationsPrevious work experience in an airport environment.Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in an industrial environment.HVAC, welding/brazing, and/or plumbing knowledge and skills.4+ years industrial mechanical and/or electrical background.Minimum 2 years' experience with PLC logic, industrial electrical controls (troubleshooting and repair), and/or Industrial HVAC certification.Advanced computer skills.Ability to operate a forklift and scissor lift safely according to ELS standards.Additional Skills and KnowledgeAccept responsibility and account for actions.Use reasoning to solve problems.Attend to customer needs while following company procedures.Demonstrate conduct conforming to company values and standards.Focus on a goal and obtain predetermined results.Formulate sound decisions using available information.Build relationships with customers and coworkers.Be organized or follow a systematic method of performing a task.Work with people regardless of protected characteristics (race, gender, religion, etc.).Get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.Obtain necessary resources to complete job assignments.Identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.Be truthful and credible in the workplace.Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.Work under pressure with time constraints.Complete assigned training in a timely manner.Computer SkillsBasic computer knowledge, intermediate level working with Microsoft Windows, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.Other RequirementsRead, write, speak, and understand English.Obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.Maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the company's insurance policy.Comply with the company's Drug and Alcohol policy.Commit to working safely while accomplishing all tasks and promoting a safe work environment at all times.Physical DemandsLift/Carry: 10–20 lbs frequently, 21–50 lbs occasionally, 51+ lbs infrequently.Push/Pull: 10–20 lbs frequently, 21–50 lbs occasionally, 51+ lbs infrequently.Reach Outward: frequently.Reach Above Shoulder: frequently.Climb & Balance: frequently.Crawl: frequently.Squat or Stoop: frequently.Bend or Kneel: frequently.Drive: frequently, occasionally.Stand, Walk, Sit: frequently or occasionally, as applicable.Vision (Near, Distance) and Hearing: required.Work EnvironmentWorks under the airport terminal, in conditions that may contain dust, dirt and continuous noise below OSHA's action level.EEO StatementThe company is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
