Job Purpose and SummaryThe purpose of the Asset Protection Coordinator (APC) is to improve the retail customer experience and mitigate company losses to external theft in their assigned store. This position requires superior customer service skills and experience implementing loss prevention and operational strategies. The APC reports directly to the District Asset Protection Leader and works closely with store leadership and specialized divisions within the Asset Protection Department. The APC monitors all store activity and gathers information on theft and operational vulnerabilities. This high‑visibility role focuses on customer service and theft prevention, not on apprehending shoplifters. APC's wear specialized CVS store uniform as a deterrent to theft and do not perform operational duties such as unloading truck deliveries or manning a POS terminal.Primary Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvides attentive, friendly customer service. Greets all customers, answers general questions, and assists with opening and securing locked shelves and showcases per customer requests.Moves throughout the store to monitor assigned store(s) for activity that causes loss of CVS Pharmacy assets/products. Communicates with Store Management about observations and seeks guidance if theft is suspected. Does not apprehend suspected shoplifters.Inspects high‑risk product categories regularly to detect and deter theft activity.Ensures use of approved asset/product protection equipment and the security labeling program.Prepares External Theft reports in the Aurora system as incidents occur and monitors feeds to gather and share intelligence on known repeat offenders with key stakeholders.Required QualificationsPhysical abilities to support the essential functions of the role, including standing, moving throughout the store, stooping, kneeling or crouching, and reaching or grasping objects on lower shelves. Must be able to perform manual dexterity tasks such as applying security tags and using keys to open and close locks.Excellent observational skills and the ability to recall and describe detailed facts. Ability to see and hear in order to perform observational duties, including reading small print on labels and tags.Ability to engage and communicate well with customers and provide excellent customer service.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must prepare and submit external theft reports as needed and communicate effectively with Asset Protection and Store Leadership teams.Work a flexible schedule that will include nights and weekends.Responsibilities – % TimeProvide customer service to prevent theft and reduce friction caused by product protection by unlocking and securing devices as needed – 60%External Theft Reporting and review of potential links of habitual offenders in the Aurora system. Proactive intelligence sharing with DAPL, ORC Team and Store Manager – 30%Monitor store compliance with asset protection related programs that prevent external theft. Take corrective action within this job description to remedy any vulnerabilities and report findings to DAPL and Store Leadership – 10%Preferred QualificationsPreferred – Equivalent Experience.Preferred – High School Diploma or General Equivalent Development (GED).Required – 1 to 3 Years ExperienceAnticipated Weekly Hours40Time TypeFull timePay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:$18.00 – $27.00The pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
