Grow your skills while shaping critical infrastructure. Join the City as a Civil Engineer! The Department of Facility Maintenance (DFM), Storm Water Quality Division, is recruiting for four (4) Civil Engineer II positions located at Kapolei Hale. What you will do:
- Assist with engineering projects related to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Storm Water Management Program.
- Plan, design, construction management, product evaluation, research & development, system optimization, database management, and Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping.
- May participate in periodic cross training and supplementary work activities within the division to comply with regulatory obligations.

Minimum qualification requirements:
- At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
- Education requirement: Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty.
- Experience requirement: One (1) year of non-registered professional civil engineering experience. A Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a regionally-accredited college or university will substitute for the one year of non-registered professional civil engineering experience.
Applicable skills needed:
- Knowledge of principles and practices of general civil engineering.
- Engineering mathematics and mechanics of materials.
- Topographic surveying principles and practices.
- Structural, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and sanitary engineering concepts as they apply to civil engineering.
- Ability to perform engineering drafting and basic design work.
- Interpret engineering plans, specifications, and land descriptions.
- Plot and analyze survey notes.
- Prepare maps, plans, profiles, and cross-sections.
License requirement: Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license (Type 3), as required.
