Description:

Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region's only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.Our Food and Nutrition Services department provides quality nutritious meals to patients, visitors and staff while educating on the importance of healthy eating habits. We also work with medical staff to ensure accurate diet modifications for patients as needed. The department is responsible for performing a variety of general preparation and food service activities, including tray assembly and delivery, working in the cafeteria, cashiering, ware washing, assisting with pantry functions, nourishment activities and catering.As the Manager, you will provide operational oversight and coordination of services related to food preparation, production, and distribution with a focus on delivering quality food and nutrition services for Hawaii Pacific Health and its entities. In this role, you will manage and train kitchen personnel and serve as a resource for all related culinary activities. In this role, you will collaborate with the Director of Food and Nutrition Services to develop, plan, price, and implement menu items. As the Manager, you will ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and maintain department policies and guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance for proper safety and sanitation in the kitchen.Location: Straub Benioff Medical CenterWork Schedule: Day - 8 HoursWork Type: Full Time RegularFTE: 1.000000Bargaining Unit: Non-BargainingExempt: YesReq ID 33348Pay Range: 84,490 - 105,602 USD per yearMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Food Service, Food Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. Three (3) years of demonstrated culinary/food service operations experience in roles of progressively greater accountability performing food production to include inventory, ordering, pricing, developing and implementing menu plans.Preferred Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited culinary program. Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
