Students may only have 5 open job applications at a time.Work Experience:Entry-Level (Foundational)Work Experience Description:Suitable for students with basic foundational knowledge and little to no practical experience, ideal for freshmen or sophomores who have completed only introductory courses.ᅟDepartmentIslands of TongaPosition Scope* Provides cultural information through demonstrations and lectures, and teaches songs, dances, crafts, games and cultural phrases to guests.* Learns how to create, maintain and/or do repairs of moderate difficulty on cultural artifacts, buildings, and props using a variety of equipment and materials.* Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the manager.Required Qualifications* Good health and have a voice that can endure up to four hours of speaking in any given time frame* Capable of moving freely among the guests and capable of full range body movement.* Able to communicate in English.* Know the basics of playing the ukulele.* Look Polynesian.Preferred Qualifications* Knowledgeable about the culture being represented.* Able to speak the language of the culture being represented.Must attach resume and current semester class schedule (weekly view).Base Rate Per Hour$16.00Work Schedule19 hours, (TBD)Approximate starting hourly rate:$14.00 - $16.00The wage offered could be above or below range based on education and experience as it relates to the job description.ᅟ* Must exemplify the university Honor Code, including the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations* Preference will be given to students who can work during academic breaks
