Position Overview:

The Accounting & Finance Manager provides financial leadership and decision-support to operational and commercial teams across one or more business locations. This role is responsible for translating financial and operational data into actionable insights, while overseeing budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and long-term planning. Working closely with the accounting team, the Accounting & Finance Manager helps ensure the accuracy of financial results, supports compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls, and identifies opportunities to enhance performance and profitability.

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (4 Days In-Office)

Base Salary: $115k - $145k

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary finance partner to business leadership, offering analysis and recommendations to support strategic and operational objectives.
  • Coordinate the annual budget, periodic forecasts, and long-range planning process.
  • Compare actual results to financial plans and explain key variances, trends, and underlying business drivers.
  • Analyze revenue, costs, margins, capital spending, and operational metrics to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Create and monitor financial and operational metrics used to evaluate business performance.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support forecasting, scenario planning, and strategic decision-making.
  • Educate non-financial leaders by clearly communicating financial results and performance implications.
  • Recommend and implement initiatives to reduce costs, improve processes, and strengthen overall financial performance.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team during the close process to review financial data and validate journal entries.
  • Prepare detailed variance commentary, including accounting considerations and potential risks.
  • Verify that financial reporting is accurate and aligned with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Provide audit support by assembling documentation and responding to internal and external audit requests.
  • Perform special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or financial analysis.
  • Accounting experience, including month-end close, journal entry review, and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance management.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, financial applications, and advanced Excel.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial information and convert it into practical recommendations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and sound judgment in a fast-paced operational setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support operations and leadership meetings.
