Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review the Proctor Process Guide and successfully complete the Proctor Certification Course.
  • Maintain a continuous physical presence in the testing room during exams.
  • Monitor examinee activity before, during, and immediately after exams.
  • Read the Proctor Script and clarify directions as needed, without compromising exam integrity.
  • Distribute, collect, and secure exam materials, including scratch paper that is signed and dated by students.
  • Track and enforce exam time limits, and provide time notifications as needed.
  • Observe the testing environment for irregular or anomalous behavior, and immediately escalate concerns to the Accessibility Services Coordinator in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist with basic email communication and minimal clerical tasks directly related to proctoring duties.

Requirements

  • Current Chaminade graduate student
  • Federal Work-Study eligibility (determined during onboarding process)
  • 2.00 GPA or higher (must maintain)

Physical Requirements

This position may involve light physical activity in both indoor and outdoor settings. Successful candidates should be comfortable alternating between standing and sitting, as well as navigating stairs and sloped walkways. They should also be comfortable lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds. Strong motor skills and clear, effective communication are essential.

Other Requirements

  • This is a part-time, non-exempt employment position. Successful candidates may work up to 19 hours per week; however, employment is on an as-needed basis. While the center's regular hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, excluding holidays, occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work may be required based on departmental needs. Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to a varied schedule are essential.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and university procedures. Promptly report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or injuries in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Comply with all university policies and procedures, which are available at or through the employee SharePoint portal.
