Position: Ward Clerk

Location: Honolulu, HI

Pay: $22/hour

Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in a healthcare clerical or staffing role, preferably in a long-term care or nursing home setting.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.

Type: Full-time; Contract

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM

Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking a Ward Clerk to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

1. Provide clerical support to the nursing department and maintain the nurses' station.
2. Maintain and update resident charts and electronic health records in compliance with regulations.
3. Schedule resident appointments, transportation, and follow-up services.
4. Answer phones, direct calls, and relay messages to appropriate personnel.
5. Coordinate admissions, discharges, transfers, and daily census updates.
6. Organize physician orders, lab results, and required documentation.
7. Facilitate communication between nursing staff, departments, residents, and visitors.

Position Requirements:

1. Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards.
2. Familiarity with electronic health records systems and staffing software.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
4. Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare confidentiality standards.
5. Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong professional communication and organizational skills.
7. Detail-oriented with a proactive and professional attitude.
