US Department of Defense - 667 Safeguard Street - Responsibilities: Manage non-nuclear material ordering to support fleet maintenance, including ship alterations, repairs, temporary equipment, test equipment, and substitute material; Ensure timely, cost-effective material ordering to minimize work stoppages and optimize budgets; Analyze technical documents/plans (Allowance Parts List, Technical Repair Standards, SHIPALT records) to identify and procure material; Review contracts and determine technically satisfactory material for end use; prepare non-standard purchase documentation; Monitor compliance with environmental, nuclear, technical, safety, and maintenance requirements and implement procurement improvements
