Description:

Punahou School is currently seeking a Part-Time Non-Benefited Administrative Assistant who, under the direct supervision of the Director of Advancement Services, provides administrative support to department management and/or staff. They will serve as a resource to staff, students, parents and visitors. Primary responsibilities include supporting the day-to-day operations of the department including, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with stewardship and cultivation-related projects, such as holiday cards, holiday event invitations, and event nametag compilation for larger events.
  • Updating constituent records.
  • Composing and/or responding to routine correspondence.
  • Answering phones, taking messages, screens calls, responding to emails, and greeting visitors (internal and/or external). Responsible for ensuring that appropriate parties are alerted concerning any issues of significance.
  • Updating department documents as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Providing general clerical support, including, but not limited to, managing paperwork, maintaining files and records, running reports, handling department mail, maintaining data, word processing, and making copies.
  • Providing administrative support to other departments as needed during non-peak periods.
Position Details:
  • Work Year: 12 months
  • School Year: 2025-2026
  • Work Hours: Variable schedule: Monday - Friday, Hours between 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Schedule may vary based on operational needs
  • Minimum Hourly Rate*: $20.00/Hour - Compensation is commensurate with qualifications

Pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors such as knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant training and experience, and internal equity

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
  • One (1) year of administrative experience. Experience working in a school environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Windows, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google applications. May require successful completion of an MS Office assessment.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (experience with Raisers Edge a plus), internet applications, the use of email and other communication applications, electronic calendaring, productivity tools and software.
  • Excellent keyboarding & proofing skills.
