JOB SUMMARY Unexploded Ordnance Technicians identify all types of discarded military munitions. They locate, extract, move, and consolidate any discarded military munitions. Unexploded Ordnance Technicians prepare firing systems, inspect materials to determine risks, and transport demolition materials.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES In addition to being able to fully perform all of the UXO Technician I and II functions, UXO Technician III personnel may:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of a qualified explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) school with at least eight years combined military and commercial UXO experience. As an exception, a UXOSO may be a graduate of a qualified UXO school and have at least eight years commercial UXO experience, as per DDESB TP18
Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification IAW 29 CFR 1910.120

Ability to work outside normal work hours at short notice as dictated by work load
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret extensive variety of scientific and technical journals, governmental regulations, and deal with abstract and concrete variables
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, clients, project staff, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and/or public groups
Ability to work away from primary work location in excess of normal work day
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Valid Driver License and ability to travel outside the US
