As a Director at The Queen's Health Systems (QHS), you'll play a strategic and influential role in advancing our mission to improve the health and well-being of the people of Hawai?i. This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for driving enterprise-wide innovation, operational excellence, and organizational agility across the system.
You will lead major initiatives that reshape how our teams operate, collaborate, and deliver exceptional outcomes. This role is ideal for a visionary leader who excels at solving complex challenges, aligning stakeholders, and turning strategy into action-all while honoring the legacy of Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV, whose commitment to compassionate care remains at the heart of our work.
In this pivotal role, you will:
Build and lead the Organizational Effectiveness & Efficiency (OEE) function for QHS, designing the team's structure, strategy, and long-term roadmap.
Architect operating models that span departments and entities-defining roles, decision rights, governance structures, processes, and organizational capabilities.
Oversee and guide a system-wide team of Project Managers, Continuous Improvement specialists, Change Management professionals, and Organizational Design experts.
Drive major transformation initiatives using an integrated approach to value stream improvement, performance analytics, project management, and change leadership.
Partner closely with HR (Compensation & HR Business Partners) to lead organizational design and position management across the system.
Champion collaboration, transparency, and system-wide alignment that enable QHS to deliver world-class patient care.
You will be a trusted advisor to executive leadership, a facilitator of cross-functional alignment, and a catalyst for meaningful, sustainable change.

This role primarily functions in a professional office environment with:
Regular sitting and walking, with occasional standing, stooping, bending, and stair climbing
Light lifting (0-5 lbs) on occasion
Constant engagement in communication, analysis, and collaboration
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Five (5) or more years of experience leading people.
Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience in operational excellence, continuous improvement, or operations management.
At least two (2) years of experience working in at least two (2) disciplines (e.g., project management, continuous improvement, organizational design, and/or change management).
Two (2) or more years of managing multiple departments/functions, preferably in a comparable health care setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred.
Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PSM, CSM, POPM, LPM, CCIM/CCIP, Prosci, CCMP (ACMP), Six Sigma, and Organizational Design and Development certification) preferred.
