ABOUT THE TEAM

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Accounting Manager will report to the Director of Finance and own key aspects of Agora's financial operations. You will manage relationships with accounting partners, serve as the primary controller for digital asset accounting, and lead the creation and submission of regulatory reporting. This role bridges traditional accounting with the evolving world of digital assets, requiring both technical expertise and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.

You will partner closely with operations, engineering, and compliance to ensure accurate financial records, strong internal controls, and timely reporting. This is a hands-on role with significant ownership, ideal for someone eager to shape processes, manage our digital asset accounting subledger, and build scalable systems from the ground up.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage relationships and deliverables with accounting partners to ensure accurate and timely month-end close and financial reporting.
• Act as the main controller for digital asset accounting, overseeing transaction recording, blockchain reconciliations, and valuation processes.
• Administer and maintain the third-party digital asset accounting subledger, ensuring data integrity and proper integration with other financial systems.
• Manage the monthly stablecoin attestation process, working with auditors to verify reserve balances and publish timely reports.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies aligned with US GAAP and applicable digital asset accounting guidance.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports in compliance with relevant jurisdictions, including stablecoin reserve disclosures.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support new product launches, operational changes, and control implementations.
• Support annual audits and manage communications with external auditors.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• CPA Certification
• 4+ years of combined public accounting and in-house experience (preferably Big 4 plus fintech/crypto/financial services).
• Proven ability to manage month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; able to work with large datasets.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a startup environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with blockchain explorers, wallet management tools, or digital assets accounting platforms.
• Familiarity with financial regulatory reporting frameworks.
• Prior experience in a high-growth or early-stage startup environment.
• Strong process design and improvement skills.
