Staff Accountant

Location: Elsa, TX (Onsite to start → Hybrid flexibility)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexible)

Compensation: $80,000-$95,000 DOE + annual bonus potential

What You'll Do

Take ownership of Accounts Receivable (primary focus), including invoicing and reporting
Support full-cycle accounting: GL maintenance, account reconciliations, month-end closing
Assist with WIP schedules (over/under billing)
Perform cost accounting (labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment)
Assist with Accounts Payable as needed
Support weekly payroll processing (~40 employees; hourly + salary)
Prepare workers' comp and unemployment reports
Run reports for sales tax, fixed assets, and fuel tax (outsourced for filing)
Partner with project managers and operations teams
AIA / progress billing

What We're Looking For

Must-Have:

3+ years of accounting experience PREFERABLY in the Construction industry
Strong QuickBooks Desktop experience
Full-cycle accounting knowledge
Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent hands-on experience)

Nice to Have:

Construction accounting experience (highly preferred)
Familiarity with WIP, job costing, and AIA billing
AR and reporting experience
Comfortable working cross-functionally
Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
CPA
