Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliation in compliance with GAAP.
• Perform month-end closing activities, including preparation of various journal entries, variance analysis, audit schedules and distribution of cost center reports.
• Maintain and update job costing reports and conduct cost analysis.
• Ensure compliance with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) requirements.
• Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule.
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Contribute to the development of financial strategic goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. CPA or MBA is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the GovCon sector.
• Proficient in accounting software, MS Excel, and other business management software.
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, month-end close process, journal entries, FAR, job costing, and DCAA compliance.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a knack for thinking creatively to devise solutions to complex problems.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, while maintaining a high level of productivity and meeting deadlines.
• Must have a proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
• Professional certification like CMA, CGMA, etc. is a plus.
