Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Mechanical Project Manager in Honolulu, Hawaii to deliver end-to-end project execution and financial performance on commercial mechanical construction projects.
Impact (Why This Role Matters)
- Drive on-time, on-budget delivery of complex mechanical construction projects
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, and consultants
- Lead cross-functional teams including superintendents, subcontractors, and internal divisions
- Ensure quality, safety, and schedule compliance across all project phases
- Protect project margins through proactive risk management and change control
Responsibilities
- Manage full project lifecycle from kickoff through close-out and warranty
- Own contract administration, budgeting, and financial performance
- Lead buyout and procurement of major mechanical equipment
- Coordinate submittals and shop drawings through BIM and construction phases
- Conduct weekly project meetings with owners, GCs, and internal teams
- Oversee subcontractor performance, schedules, and deliverables
- Drive change order management and maintain accurate cost forecasting
- Manage manpower loading and resource allocation across projects
- Ensure jobsite safety compliance and quality standards
- Maintain clear communication with all project stakeholders
Requirements
Must-Haves
- 5+ years of project management experience in commercial mechanical construction
- Proven track record managing projects from $2M to $10M+
- Strong commercial acumen with P&L accountability
- Experience with contract administration and change management
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems
- Familiarity with BIM coordination and Bluebeam
- Background in design-build or design-assist delivery methods
- OSHA 30 certification
