We're embarking on an exciting journey with Autonomous OCI—a groundbreaking initiative to redesign the cloud kernel and runtime. This initiative aims to break through the obstacles of a linear growth model and enable OCI to scale efficiently, ensuring resilience, speed, and self-healing capabilities by default.

We are searching for a Consulting Technical Expert with significant experience in distributed systems and mission-critical cloud services. In this role, you will independently drive projects, provide technical leadership to development teams, and leverage your hands-on expertise to deliver highly available, scalable solutions. Your understanding of simplicity in system design will help enhance operational efficiency, as you balance speed, quality, and incremental improvement.

Your Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of our next-generation runtime, Light-weight Infrastructure, focusing on compute, networking, storage, telemetry, and governance at the heart of Autonomous OCI.
• Dive deeply into complex systems, design and develop core services, collaborating across teams to enhance scale, resilience, and simplicity.
• Contribute to platform and product definitions, participate in design reviews, and engage in operations, hiring, and mentoring to shape the next generation of the OCI Service Platform.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of engineering experience in designing and working with distributed systems and cloud services.
• Strong communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Experience acting as a technical lead, guiding the architecture, design, and implementation of complex software systems.
• A track record of mentoring engineers.
• Expertise in software development, particularly with languages such as Java or Golang.
• Proficiency in building and operating hosted software (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, etc.).
• Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, and reliable, scalable workflows is a plus.
