Our Transportation Engineer would work closely with other members of our team and specialize in the design, analysis, and management of traffic systems to foster safe and efficient movement of motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Civil is preferred
• Five to 10 years of work experience related to traffic or transportation engineering, operations, or analysis
• Professional Traffic Operation Engineer certification is a plus
• Professional Engineering license is a plus
• Proficient in GIS tools for technical analyses
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Teams)
• Balances and manages multiple tasks, projects, and schedules
• Promptly responds to project tasks, multiple deadlines, and project task emergencies

• Works effectively in a team setting and function efficiently with others; and, works with accuracy, reliability, resourcefulness, and, good judgment
• Effectively applies breadth of knowledge of the principles and practices of transportation engineering, and design guidelines, criteria, and standards applicable to project locations
• Effectively applies computer applications, such as, CAD programs, spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, email, and team collaboration software
• Able to successfully complete simple to moderately complex design work; interpret plans, specifications, and land descriptions; prepare maps, plans, street alignments and cross-sections.

• Appropriately applies effective written and oral communication skills, including the editing, oversight, and preparation of technical reports, and the presentation of information to clients, government entities, and other stakeholders
• Valid driver's license

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Create or assist in the creation of plans for roads and public transportation systems considering factors such as multi-modal facilities, traffic flow, safety, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness
• Able to analyze or learn to analyze traffic flow, patterns, and congestion using specialized software and data collection techniques to develop traffic models to simulate current and future conditions and evaluate the impact of proposed changes or interventions
• Work with government agencies, planners, architects, construction companies, and the public to coordinate transportation projects and address concerns
• Ensure that transportation projects comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to safety, accessibility, environmental protection, and construction
• Ability (or learn) to manage transportation projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and supervision of construction activities
• Prepare and assist in the preparation of traffic impact analysis reports.

LOCATION: Honolulu, HI

SALARY RANGE: $92,560 - $134,550 per year depending on experience
