Job Title: Restaurant Captain/ Assistant Manager

Location: Honolulu, HI (Ala Moana Center)

Pay Range - $35/hr.- $40/hr.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.

About the Role

Restaurant Captain (Assistant Managers) plays a key leadership role, supporting the General Manager in daily operations while ensuring our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are upheld, the team is well-trained, and guests receive exceptional service.

Restaurant Captains lead by example, energize the team, and ensure the restaurant consistently meets or exceeds operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist guests with a friendly and professional demeanor; respond appropriately to feedback and concerns
  • Train team members and uphold company standards in food preparation, service, and cleanliness
  • Monitor food quality and manage food cost controls
  • Communicate daily goals and support team members during busy shifts
  • Coordinate schedules, cleaning checklists, inventory, and supply orders
  • Resolve operational issues promptly, including guest concerns and training gaps
  • Clearly communicate procedures, standards, and expectations
  • Lead training across all stations using hands-on guidance and the company's learning management system
  • Learn basic maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • Conduct daily quality checks to ensure consistency and high standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, food service, or a related field
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid food handler's permit (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Alcohol server permit preferred
  • Strong attention to customer needs and detail-oriented service mindset
  • Excellent verbal communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong training, coaching, and team development abilities
  • Solid organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in variable temperatures and around chemicals, smoke, or airborne particles

Location & Reporting Structure:

  • Based in Honolulu, HI
  • Reports directly to the Director of Operations until a District/Regional Manager is appointed
  • Includes 6-8 weeks of training in Seattle prior to opening.
