Maintenance Worker NA-08

This position is located at Pililaau Army Recreation Center in Waianae, Hawaii (Island of Oahu). Incentives will not be paid.

Duties

  • Inspects and analyzes refrigeration equipment; tests and sets pressure controls.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning electric fixtures and completes needed repairs.
  • May install and maintain electronic and electromechanical cash registers and peripheral equipment.
  • May prepare and paint equipment, fixtures, furnishings, and buildings; hang wallpaper; install and repair water, sewer, and gas fixtures; and cut, bend, and fit pipes and fittings.
  • Prepares cost estimates for completion of a job and may operate a motor vehicle to transport material and personnel.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Successfully complete physical medical examination.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Broad knowledge of and skill in maintenance methods and techniques for trades applicable to the nature of assignments.
  • Skill in the use of various hand and power tools used. Skill in the use of electrical test equipment.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing over 50 pounds. Works in uncomfortable positions.
  • Exposure to dirt, dust, grease, disagreeable odors. May be required to wear protective equipment.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Minimum Qualification Criteria: 1. Lift and carry ladders, scaffolds, and materials weighing up to 50 lbs. 2. Possess skill in the use of power tools used to complete projects. 3. Have demonstrated ability to use electrical test equipment. 4. Possess math skills necessary to measure, fit and cost materials used. 5. Possess a valid motor vehicle operator's permit.
