You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in the COMMUNICATIONS & INFORMATION SYSTEMS DIRECTORATE of MARITIME OPERATIONS CENTER.
You will obtain highly technical NetOps information from diverse organizations, translate the information into layman terms as required, and provide NetOps assessments and recommendations to leadership.
You will assess operational mission impact of communications systems outages and degradations and provide Communications System (CS) management.
You will report and respond to CS outages in a timely manner.
You will act as the single point of contact and facilitate meetings to report Pacific Fleet CS events to numerous entities.
You will conduct thorough analysis of data derived from message reporting, emails, voice reports and web-based tools from diverse organizations.
You will acquire situational awareness in order to assess operational mission impact of communications systems outages and degradations affecting afloat and shore commands.
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 441, proficiency level INTERMEDIATE; the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
This position requires shift work.
The incumbent will be an Emergency Relocation Staff (ERS) member and deploy/operate from an alternate operating facility for up to 30 days after an event or until normal operations resume. Continuity of Operations (COOP) annual training is required.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing, analyzing, and/or troubleshooting unified communications systems, performing real-time network monitoring, security monitoring, and/or incident response in a 'watch floor' environment, and/or applying security principles to communications infrastructure and project implementation.
