We are currently seeking a dedicated Marine Welder/Mechanic to support our SEMAT team in Pearl Harbor, HI. In this role, you will perform essential welding and mechanical maintenance, ensuring the operational readiness of engineering systems aboard US Navy Surface Ships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct welding and mechanical maintenance to assist shipboard personnel with the operation and repair of complex engineering systems.
  • Gain mastery over production processes while managing customer relations and subcontractor coordination.
  • Complete understanding of specialty trade tools and perform a variety of non-routine tasks.
  • Generate and utilize technical documentation, including work packages and operational procedures.
  • Communicate progress through reports and briefings for both customers and senior management, and carry out quality inspections.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary tasks to complete assignments effectively.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience as a Shipboard Marine Welder (MIG and Brazing) along with mechanical trades expertise.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and ship technical manuals.
  • Skillful in using mechanical tools for corrective ship repairs.
  • Must provide own hand tools as per your specialty.
  • Physical capability to work on ships and in industrial environments.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DOD Confidential security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MIG, TIG, ARC Welder and Brazing Certifications.
  • Recent shipboard experience on US naval ships.
  • Current DOD Confidential security clearance or above.

Physical Requirements:

You should be able to lift at least 30 lbs and work in varied conditions, including aboard ships, in confined spaces, and extreme temperatures. Expect potential travel within and outside the continental United States.
