Overview

Elzly Technology Corporation (Elzly) is recruiting experienced coating inspectors in Norfolk, VA; Mayport, FL; San Diego, CA; Everett, WA; Pearl Harbor, HI; and Japan/Pacific Ocean. Candidates willing to travel or temporarily relocate to these locations may be considered.Elzly is a growing consulting-engineering firm that provides subject matter expertise and technical services for corrosion prevention and control. Our services include field investigations of corrosion phenomena, material research and testing, development of training materials, and specification development. We focus on delivering valuable service to customers while maintaining a professional, enjoyable work environment that allows employees to express their talents.

Required Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED, plus one of the following: related military experience, completion of trade/industrial school, or trade experience. Required Certification: Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Basic Coating Inspector (formerly NACE CIP Level I) with willingness/ability to obtain AMPP Certified and Senior Coatings Inspector level (formerly NACE CIP Level II and III).

Desired Experience (approximately 2–8 years):

• Experience in the corrosion control field supporting U.S. Navy ship and/or submarine maintenance, including mitigating corrosion issues, identifying solutions, and understanding technical requirements for shipboard HM&E and/or C5I systems and equipment.
• Experience with surface preparation tools, corrosion control techniques, and application of coating systems on U.S. Navy ships or in the marine industry, and understanding constraints of shipboard organizational level corrosion control and preservation maintenance.
• Experience overseeing and providing quality control for corrosion control work; interfacing with government, shipyard, and contractor corrosion control maintenance activities; and working with US Navy ship leadership, ship personnel, and program leadership.
• Experience in corrosion prevention and control trade.

Physical Requirements

Includes close, distance, color, and depth vision; ability to adjust focus; occasional climbing or working from a ladder or lift; ability to lift up to 20 pounds; walking on uneven terrain; work in confined spaces; crawling; entering 24-inch diameter spaces; hearing; outdoor work in inclement weather; manual dexterity; respirator use; speaking and smelling.

Salary Range: $20.00–$40.00/hour. Hourly rate is based on experience and certifications.
