Position: Preconstruction Manager

Location: Honolulu, HI

Pay: $72.12/hour

Experience: Extensive experience in mechanical preconstruction and estimating leadership across HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, with demonstrated responsibility for pricing strategy, risk management, and margin protection.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

Type: Full-time; Contract

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM


Employers Options is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to join a growing and dynamic team!


Job Description:

  1. Lead all mechanical preconstruction efforts across HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection scopes.
  2. Establish pricing strategy and pursuit selection aligned with backlog and business goals.
  3. Provide executive-level judgment on project risk, margin, and financial viability.
  4. Review and approve major estimates, budgets, and client proposals.
  5. Lead and develop estimating teams to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  6. Ensure clean, well-documented project handoffs to Operations.
  7. Collaborate with Operations and Finance on forecasting and workload planning.


Position Requirements:

  1. Strong expertise in design-build, design-assist, value engineering, and negotiated projects.
  2. Advanced financial literacy and understanding of project lifecycle economics.
  3. Demonstrated ability to assess risk and protect project margins.
  4. High attention to detail with strong professional judgment.
  5. Excellent executive-level communication and presentation skills.
  6. Ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Finance, and leadership teams.
