The IMUA Inclusion Preschool Teacher is responsible for the implementation of activities that promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for early childhood development and ensuring the highest standards of care are met for children in line with agency, local, state, and national standards. The teacher collaborates with a team consisting of direct service and administrative staff and is responsible for instruction, management, oversight, and on-going development of preschool programs operated by IMUA Family Services. This person reports to, and meets weekly with, the Preschool Director and other staff. Consider what you want out of life and choose the IMUA way!/ppEssential Duties and Responsibilities:/ppstrongTeaching:/strong/pulliUse best practices in early childhood education to meet the care and learning needs of children/liliMaintain an active, functional, appropriate, inclusive environment/liliMaintain current health and safety practices, including safe diapering and toileting/liliAdhere to the Code of Ethical Conduct of the National Association for the Education of Young Children/liliAssist with the creation and implementation of the curriculum/liliInteract with preschool students to encourage learning through play/liliAssure developmental appropriateness of activities, equipment, and supplies within the program/liliAssist with development and delivery of programming, including well-prepared daily activities/liliPrepare and care for classroom and playground as needed and/or requested/liliAssist with coordination and running of community field trips; assist with transition across educational environments/liliApplies positive methods of guidance and problem solving/liliDemonstrate organizational skills in independently managing work and related responsibilities/liliDuties involve lifting toddlers and preschool age children/liliPrepare and lead group and individual activities/liliUse behavior consistent with strong environmental awareness and the ability to differentiate immediate needs of the children/program/liliPerform other duties as assigned/li/ulpstrongFamily:/strong/pulliMaintain confidentiality of family records and all related information/liliEstablish a trusting and positive relationship with families/liliAssist with the coordination and implementation of parent-teacher conferences/liliAssist with the coordination and implementation of family home visits/li/ulpstrongOrganization:/strong/pulliAssist with the needs of practicum students, and volunteers in their provision of services and activities related to designated areas of responsibility/liliAttend and participate in staff meetings, case conferences, in-service trainings, and other meetings as required/liliParticipate in the registration, enrollment, and eligibility processes of the program as needed/liliCommunicates effectively with children, families, colleagues, and community/liliParticipate in various fundraisers, outreach opportunities, and other agency activities that serve to increase the credibility and visibility of Imua Family Services in the community/li/ulpstrongCommunity:/strong/pulliDemonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with other personnel and/or service providers as part of a team and demonstrates maturity in interpersonal staff relationships/liliParticipate in various fundraisers, outreach opportunities, and other agency activities that serve to increase the credibility and visibility of Imua Family Services in the community/li/ulpstrongQuality Improvement:/strong/ppWith other staff, is responsible for development and implementation of quality improvement practices./polliMonitors Accident/Incident Reports of the children and families./liliHelps to maintain a work environment that provides maximum safety and health. (at least 1 year experience in related field preferred)/liliAssistant teachers/teacher aides must have a minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential reflective of the age group of children they are supporting.
