Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST (or based on business need)

About the Role:

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in our financial operations. You will be responsible for verifying patient insurance and benefits, submitting claims, addressing any issues with unpaid or denied claims, and managing accounts receivable diligently. Your contributions will help us provide excellent service to our patients while ensuring compliance with regulations like HIPAA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Submit medical documentation and billing data to insurance providers with accuracy.
  • Research and appeal denied and rejected claims effectively.
  • Prepare, review, and transmit claims utilizing our billing software for both electronic and paper claims.
  • Follow up on unpaid claims promptly within standard billing cycles.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Review insurance payments to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Apply your knowledge of financial processes to maintain strong internal controls.
  • Collaborate effectively within a finance environment to meet service level goals.
  • Respond professionally to vendor and customer inquiries.
  • Manage tasks efficiently while meeting tight deadlines and prioritizing critical activities.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED; a bachelor's degree in a business-related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in Medical Billing or Revenue Cycle Management is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with ICD-10 coding is a plus.
  • Competent with computer systems, software, and 10-key calculators.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial.

Compensation: Anticipated hourly rate ranges from $22.30 to $28.80.
