We are seeking a Hybrid Tech Lead / Engineering Manager to join BigIron and provide both technical direction and people leadership for a team building modern web applications using C#, Azure, ASP.NET MVC, React, and SQL.

This role is approximately 30% hands-on coding and 70% leadership, architecture, and delivery management. You will stay technically involved-contributing to key features and architectural decisions-while primarily focusing on team effectiveness, project execution, and supporting the long-term technical direction of our web platforms.

Technical Leadership (Including ~30% Coding)

• Architect size-appropriate, secure, and maintainable solutions across the stack
• Contribute directly to high-impact or complex features (~30% of time)
• Lead design discussions and establish engineering standards and best practices
• Oversee modernization and refactoring of legacy systems
• Guide cloud architecture and deployments within Microsoft Azure
• Ensure code quality through reviews, mentorship, and hands-on example
• Drive database design and performance optimization in SQL Server
• Partner with DevOps to improve CI/CD pipelines and operational excellence

• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture
• Own planning, delivery commitments, and execution in an Agile environment
• Work closely with Product and stakeholders to translate business goals into technical plans
• Identify risks, remove blockers, and ensure predictable delivery
• Support hiring, onboarding, and team scaling efforts

• 10+ years of experience in .NET development
• Strong hands-on expertise in C#, ASP.NET MVC, React, Azure, and SQL Server
• Demonstrated experience in technical leadership and architecture design
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to balance technical depth with strategic leadership

• Experience with .NET Core and dotNet 4.7
• Experience modernizing legacy applications
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code
• Experience leading cross-functional or distributed teams
