The role you will play

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will lay the groundwork for our Service Promise, ensuring that the club is clean, friendly, and well-maintained. Your focus will be on the proper operation of all club areas and equipment, which helps guarantee a safe, outstanding experience for our members. When a member seeks their favorite machine, your expertise will ensure it's in working order.

Your daily responsibilities will include

  • Conducting daily walkthroughs of the facility to identify repair/service needs, while maintaining the club's Maintenance Log.
  • Collaborating with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager to discuss maintenance needs.
  • Ensuring proper maintenance and chemical balance of the pool, spa, steam, and sauna, while overseeing outside service providers.
  • Procuring repair parts, materials, tools, and equipment as necessary.
  • Performing routine preventative maintenance and keeping associated logs and history files updated.
  • Conducting monthly OSHA safety checks as required, adhering to all safety guidelines daily.
  • Engaging with members on the floor to maximize their club experience.

What you bring to the table

  • Hands-on experience in equipment repair and building maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems.
  • Preferred 2 years of experience in facility operations/maintenance.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and adapt to changing situations.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with email.
  • A background in health club maintenance is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to work overtime and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Must be comfortable in a high-energy environment with occasional loud noise levels from equipment and member activity. You will regularly encounter moving mechanical parts and will be involved in physical activities such as lifting weights (up to 50 pounds), squatting, bending, and prolonged periods of movement or stationary positions. Exposure to pool chemicals, cleaning agents, and oil/grease from equipment is also part of the job.

Travel and Availability

Travel between various clubs may be required to service multiple facilities. This is a full-time position requiring flexible availability across weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
