Hinana Bar Waithelp*

Primary Responsibilities: Welcome guests with a warm and inviting demeanor. Attentive to guest's needs and engage with the guests in conversation, and establish a rapport. Friendly and articulate with excellent communication skills. Ability to multi-task essential duties with multiple departments on a daily basis. Well organized and have a willingness to learn. Proficient with the POS system, proper check handling procedures, collection of payment and cash handling. Ability to carry drinks and glassware utilizing a cocktail tray. Able to work in the weather conditions of the pool area.

Essential Duties:

Follow Federal and State liquor laws along with hotel policies in serving alcoholic beverages.

Recognize and appropriately respond to disgruntled patrons.

Welcome & greet guests in a friendly manner, personalizing service and build a rapport.

Sell food and beverages to enhance the guest's experience.

Perform all opening and closing duties to hotel standards.

Detailed understanding of serving equipment and usage.

Familiar with all hotel brands and beverages.

Ability to make food and beverage recommendations also as an upsell.

Ensure food and beverages are served in a timely manner.

Remove dirty dishes, flatware, and glassware from tables.

Present check to guests and accept proper payment following check closing procedures.

Maintain supplies and cleanliness throughout service period.

Consistently perform tasks as specified by SOP's.

Perform other related duties as required or assigned by a manager.

Other Duties:

Knowledge of the Hawaii Prince Waikiki branding, history and geography.

Keep work and storage areas clean, sanitized and orderly.

Monitor and up-keep supply inventory.

Recommend the hotel's restaurant and facilities to guests.

Ability to open wine bottles table side with proper etiquette.

Working Conditions:

Pool Bar, Pool Deck and kitchen. Pick up food from kitchen on 3rd floor

Outdoor venue, open air, affected by weather conditions.

Fast paced environment with elegant guest service.

On occasion outdoors for special events in various weather conditions.

Work Hours:

Able to work day and night shifts determined by the restaurant manager.

Able to work more than 40 hours per week when needed.

Able to work weekends and weekdays determined by restaurant manager.

Equipment Use:

Proficient in the use of the resort's POS system.

Cocktail tray proficiency in carrying beverges.

Coffee makers, Tea brewers, Espresso machine.

Mental and Physical Demands:

Able to multi-task and organize/prioritize workload.

Able to manage stressful & challenging situations when dealing with guests.

Able to stand, walk, bend, and reach continuously during any given length of shift.

Lift and carry 25 lbs.

Push and pull up to and over 25 lbs.

Able to train new employees.

Communication Demands:

Must be able to communicate effectively in English to fellow employees, managers and guests.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Read and write English to perform job duties.

Passionate about food and beverage and possess a desire to exceed guest's expectations.

Service-minded and innovative who continue to deliver high quality standards of service.

Two year's cocktailing experience in a full service bar.

Dept. of Health TB clearance.

Minimum 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.

Must obtain Hawaii State liquor commission card and follow all pertaining liquor laws

Pass a written test on beverage and food items

Pass a practical service test.
Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
