Cherokee Analytics is seeking a Special Security Technician to services in support of the USINDOPACOM SCI security programs, including but not limited to administrative, personnel, physical, and information security functions.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated starting salary range: $105,000 - $115,000. Pay commensurate with experience.

Special Security Technician - Mid Responsibilities Include:
Conduct audits of classified material; inspections of classified material storage facilities / SCIFs / containers
Research and prepare classified material-related policy and management recommendations, reports, and recommendations
Provide security-related customer service and assistance to employees, visitors, and liaisons
Assist with access control to the HQ/JIOC installation buildings
Assist with conducting security walk-throughs and inspections
Assist with submitting topics and information to support a multi-faceted Security, Education, Awareness and Training (SETA) program
Assist with drafting, reviewing, and updating security policies, procedures, and other guidance
Maintain the USINDOPACOM Security SharePoint sites and post documents approved by Security government officials
Provide weekly activity reports (WAR) to respective Branch Chief
Conduct personnel, physical, administrative, and information security tasks
Assist with conducting internal assessments using established checklists
Document on-the-spot corrections and recommend corrective actions to assess the overall health of the SCI security program
Ensure classified information is properly marked.
Process courier requests; prepare courier cards and courier travel authorization letters maintain database of issued/destroyed cards for accountability and reporting; submit metrics weekly.
Provide assistance with preparing classified information for transmission or transportation
Maintain copy of classified material inventory; destroy in accordance with applicable records management disposition instructions
Process reported/suspected security incidents in accordance with local policy and procedures
Establish and maintain a sustainable repository/tracking system
Execute a multi-faceted Security, Education, Awareness and Training (SETA) program
Provide witness capability for destruction of all Top Secret, SAP, SCI, and other materials.
Assist with the administering Defense Courier Service (DCS) actions.
Assist with preparing documentation and materials and conducting pickup/drop-off of materials
Perform receipt and delivery of DCS documents and materials
Conduct personnel security tasks in support of the USINDOPACOM SCI Personnel Security Program
In/out-process assigned and attached personnel
Assist with executing non-disclosure agreements, conducting indoctrinations/initial security briefings and debriefings, and creating and updating local personnel security records/files.
Establish/disestablish appropriate security relationship in the personnel security system of record
Process in/out-going clearance certification/visit access requests
Notify the government PERSEC Manager of receipt of derogatory, conflicting or questionable data
Review submitted security investigative paperwork, within one business day, for completeness.
Prepare and maintain security clearance investigation status reports/rosters and access badge reports/rosters.
Update the LENEL database or similar repository with required personnel security information
Input security information into the personnel security system of record and track reports of incident
Create and maintain electronic and hardcopy personnel security records/files (active and inactive)
Process SCI eligibility, nominations, systems access requests, and polygraph requests
Process pre/post foreign travel forms
Issue security access badges in accordance with local policy and PERSEC SOPs
Brief visitors on USINDOPACOM security procedures
Brief USINDOPACOM escorts on escort responsibilities
Assist with processing foreign visits to USINDOPACOM facilities
Process visits received via Foreign Disclosure Office and/or Message Traffic
Maintain local electronic database.
Coordinate for additional records checks, as necessary, in accordance with local policy.
Complete security clearance verification requests
Perform physical security assessments (PSA) for buildings and workspaces under USINDOPACOM control
Provide PSA in memorandum format
Assist with construction plans and projects
Assist with the execution of SCIF Management functions
Assist with testing alarms semi-annually; document test via memorandum for record.
Research, advise, and provide recommendations/quotes for all Physical Security enhancements procurements.
Maintain all locks to include repair, removal and replacement during duty and non-duty hours
Retain active records until no longer needed and inactive records indefinitely
Assist Division Hand Receipt Holder with property accountability.
Provide assistance drafting and reviewing policy memos, plans, SOPs and other guidance
Processing Personnel Electronic Devices (PED) requests
Assist with maintaining Security personnel rosters, recall rosters, leave/TDY tracker, accountability rosters, organizational charts, and executive-level/DV mission briefings
Assist with drafting, assigning, and tracking internal security taskers; review external taskers (e.g. DoD, Joint Staff, USINDOPACOM), assist with assigning and tracking to completion.
Provide security assistance with integrating foreign partners into the USINDOPACOM staff. Coordinate with physical, information, personnel, and cybersecurity (J6/J26) staff to identify requirements for integration while preventing unauthorized disclosure.
Assist USINDOPACOM directorates with drafting and establishing security SOPs and training to integrate foreign partners.
Coordinate with foreign disclosure to synchronize security procedures and training with foreign disclosure procedures and training
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Special Security Technician - Mid Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
Active TS/SCI security clearance with the willingness and ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph
Minimum of eight (8) of related experience
Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Current Top Secret clearance, and SCI eligible and possess/able to obtain a CI Poly
Completion of the instructor led Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) Introduction to SAPSs course.
Completion of CDSE Orientation to SAP Security Compliance Inspections course.
Experience implementing security training to meet specific SAP requirements.
Experience performing PSO functions in support of both government and contractor customers.
Experience with SCIF accreditations and Inspections.
Working knowledge of the e-QIP processes and ability to initiate and submit investigations to OPM
Have knowledge of the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) and Department of Defense (DoD) Enterprise Architecture framework (e.g., SIPR, NIPR and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications Systems (JWICS) networks), and the Information Technology (IT)/Cybersecurity rules and regulatory authorities to develop and implement policies and planning concepts, and project management methods.
Knowledge of governing laws, regulations, precedents, and directives governing DoD security programs
Must be proficient using basic Microsoft Office software applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access).
Working knowledge working with using Records Message Traffic (RMT) and the Automated Message Handling System (AMHS).
Proficiency using personnel security processing tools, including the DoD personnel security system of record (e.g. JPAS, DISS, etc.) and Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP).
