There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Design & Construction, Civil Division, in Honolulu.
Coordinate and oversee the development of the project plans, reports, permits, specifications, and cost estimates for projects such as bridges, utility adjustments, stream transitions, retaining walls, drainage structures, earth stabilization mitigation improvements, rockslide mitigation, and other concrete, steel, and timber structures. Coordinate and oversee the development of the bridge inspection reports and load ratings for bridge inspection projects. Maintain project administration of the project by monitoring the project schedule, reviewing consultant invoices, and preparing contract amendments as necessary. Regular hours anticipated but may require evening, weekend, or holiday work to accommodate emergency situations.
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: One year of registered professional structural engineering experience. LICENSE REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid license as a professional structural engineer in the State of Hawaii. Applicants with a current out-of-state professional structural engineer license must obtain their Hawaii license prior to appointment. Valid Hawaii State driver's license (Type 3/automobile), as required.
