AI/ML Engineer

The Role

We're hiring on behalf of a fast-growing AI start-up for an inventive AI/ML Engineer to help shape the next generation of how people discover and interact with information through AI. You'll build intelligent systems that turn vast text data into meaningful insights and engaging content. This is a hands-on role for someone eager to own projects end-to-end - from experimentation to deployment - and see their work make a measurable impact in the real world.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement NLP and LLM-powered solutions for classification, ranking, summarisation, and content generation.
• Build scalable workflows that connect data, models, and real user interactions.
• Develop creative prompt and template systems to generate high-quality, brand-aligned content.
• Evaluate model performance and continuously improve quality, reliability, and speed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate insights into product innovations.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of experience deploying machine learning systems in production at scale, especially with large text data.
• Degree from a top-tier university (e.g. CMU, MIT, Stanford, Berkeley, etc.); publications in leading NLP conferences (e.g. EMNLP, NAACL, EACL, ACL, CoNLL, COLING) are a strong plus.
• Strong skills in Python, SQL, and modern ML frameworks.
• Experience with LLMs and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), as well as model evaluation and guardrails.
• A problem-solver who thrives in fast-moving, collaborative environments.
• Excellent communication skills and an ownership mindset.
