Position Overview

Winter Environmental is seeking an experienced Asbestos Supervisor to lead field operations on environmental remediation and interior demolition projects throughout the Southeast. This role is responsible for day-to-day supervision of crews, regulatory compliance, jobsite safety, and coordination with consultants, clients, and internal project management teams. This is a hands-on leadership role for a supervisor who understands asbestos abatement operations, documentation requirements, and production-driven field execution.

Key Responsibilities

Field Supervision & Project Execution

  • Supervise asbestos abatement, lead paint abatement, mold remediation, and interior demolition crews.
  • Conduct daily job briefings, safety meetings, and task planning.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials to meet production goals.
  • Ensure proper containment setup, removal methods, decontamination procedures, and teardown.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
  • Enforce all OSHA, EPA, AHERA, and state-specific asbestos regulations.
  • Maintain strict compliance with company safety policies and site-specific HASPs.
  • Coordinate air monitoring activities with third-party consultants.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and engineering controls at all times.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Complete daily reports, waste shipment records, manifests, and job logs.
  • Verify proper labeling, packaging, and disposal of regulated waste.
  • Maintain training and certification documentation for crew members.
  • Assist Project Managers with field reporting and job close-out documentation.
Client & Team Coordination
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact with owners, GCs, consultants, and inspectors.
  • Communicate schedule changes, field conditions, and production issues.
  • Support Project Managers with progress updates and manpower forecasting.
Travel Requirements
  • Regular travel throughout the Southeast.
  • Overnight travel may be required depending on project location.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of field experience in asbestos abatement, environmental remediation, or related demolition work.
  • Current Asbestos Supervisor certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, AHERA, and RCRA regulations.
  • Proven experience supervising field crews on active job sites.
  • Ability to read and execute project specifications, work plans, and drawings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification
  • HAZWOPER 40-Hour Certification
  • Lead Renovator (RRP) Certification
  • Prior experience working on multi-state or large-scale abatement projects
  • Experience coordinating with industrial hygienists and regulatory inspectors
