Primary Purpose:

The Specialist is accountable for the order coordination of all services and products for high value business customers. Products and services include a B1 through Frame Relay, ADSL, ISDN, data, PBX's, etc. The Specialist will participate as an integral part of the customers' assigned sales team. The Specialist is also responsible for assisting customers with all billing related issues. Performs other related, marginal duties as required.

Essential Duties/Functions:

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Order entry accountability for all services and products available to high value customers.
  • Accurate completion of appropriate data gathering forms for order provisioning.
  • Recognize sales opportunities and relay to sales or issue order when appropriate.
  • Participate as an integral part of the customers' assigned sales team.
  • Meet with the sales team regularly to check on customers' needs/plans.
  • Build relationship with assigned customers.
  • Accountable for the office service level and quality results.
  • Responsible for own error correction.
  • Responsible for managing daily maintenance of assigned accounts.
  • Assist customer with all billing related issues.
  • Work with sales team/National Credit team to ensure positive relationship with the customers regarding billing issues.
  • Work closely with many interdepartmental groups to ensure provisioning of the customers' requests.

Employee Qualifications:
  • Tests -- Results obtained in standard tests for this position must meet minimum requirements established by the testing program.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Tolerance for prolonged sitting and constant viewing of computer screen.
    • Extensive typing and use of a visual display monitor/computer.

  • Background/Experience/Specialized Knowledge: Working knowledge of all order entry and billing systems.
  • Strong Tariff background.
  • Working knowledge of Banyan, MS Word, Excel, Internet, etc.
  • Strong communicative and decision making skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Strong tact and diplomacy skills.
  • Understanding of basic and advanced data communications and the products and services Hawaiian Telcom offers.
  • Knowledge of Hawaiian Telcom Internetworking and Hawaiian Telcom Long Distance products and services.
  • Good organization skills and ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Desire to team with others to ensure the success of the Branch.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership qualities.


Working Conditions:
  • Indoor office work
  • Daytime tour of duty
  • Subject to occasional overtime

Rate of Pay: $20.02 - $37.83 per hour
