As the Director of Construction for Data Centers, you will play a crucial role in defining the future of our data infrastructure. Your strategic responsibilities include crafting and executing comprehensive plans aimed at optimizing efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring operational excellence. You will engage with key stakeholders, manage essential vendor partnerships, and expertly navigate regulatory compliance complexities. Your proactive risk assessment and mitigation strategies will be vital in maintaining project timelines and budgets. By staying ahead of industry trends and integrating cutting-edge technologies, you will ensure our data centers remain at the forefront of innovation and are built for the future.

This full-time position is based in Abilene, TX, where candidates must either reside or be willing to relocate. We offer relocation assistance to ease your transition. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Understand and assess complex data center construction projects from colocation lease providers, analyzing risk profiles and collaborating with them for risk mitigation.

  2. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term standards and strategies for confident delivery of data center colocation construction projects to align with our organizational vision.

  3. The team will focus on base building and MEP infrastructure, as well as executing tenant fit-out projects in data hall white space.

  4. Team Leadership: Inspire and guide a talented team of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals, cultivating a collaborative, high-performance culture.

  5. Project Oversight: Direct the construction oversight of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring projects are finished on time, within budget, and exceed quality standards.

  6. Schedule Management: Create and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating with colocation providers to ensure timely progress on milestones.

  7. Risk Evaluation: Independently analyze projects to evaluate risk profiles associated with timely delivery, closing gaps in risk identification and mitigation.

  8. Tenant Fit-Out Integration: Collaborate closely during design, construction, and commissioning to seamlessly integrate tenant fit-out projects.

  9. Quality Assurance: Develop and oversee quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards.

  10. Design Coordination: Work alongside design teams to ensure construction aligns with approved design plans and specifications.

  11. Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary liaison between the company and colocation providers, facilitating effective communication.

  12. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and devise mitigation strategies to safeguard project success.

  13. Compliance: Ensure that all construction activities adhere to relevant regulations, codes, and standards.

  14. Continuously evaluate colocation providers for improvements.

  15. Regular project visits to monitor schedule, coordination, and quality will be essential throughout project lifecycles.

  16. Innovation and Improvement: Keep current with industry trends and new technologies, integrating innovative solutions to enhance performance and sustainability in our data centers.

  17. Participate in meetings across various time zones to support international project engagement.

Salary and Benefits:

In the US, the hiring range is from $139,400 to $291,800 annually. Eligibility for bonuses, equity, and deferrals may apply.
