Position Overview

As a Retail Sales Team Member at PetSmart, you will foster positive interactions with pet parents and their pets while ensuring the highest standards of pet care and store cleanliness. You will be part of a team that celebrates all pets and their owners.

Core Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service both in-store and online.
• Greet and assist pet parents with their inquiries.
• Prepare and manage online orders for in-store pickup, ensuring a seamless experience.
• Care for store-owned pets, including feeding, hydration, and habitat maintenance.
• Keep the store clean and organized according to our standards.
• Assist with pricing updates and product displays.
• Advise customers on our products, services, and live pets available for adoption.
• Administer medications to pets as outlined by veterinary professionals.
• Promote pet-related events and special promotions.
• Ensure safety for colleagues, pets, and customers.
• Act swiftly when dealing with sick or injured pets.
• Support various departments and tasks as needed.
• Contribute positively to our team culture focused on belonging and recognition.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to perform under pressure while keeping a calm demeanor.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand, walk, climb ladders, and use hands effectively.
• Frequent lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally more with assistance.
• Exposure to animals and various conditions commonly found in pet supply environments.
