SAP S/4HANA SD Solution Architect (15+ Years Experience)

Role Summary
The SAP S/4HANA SD Solution Architect will be responsible for defining, governing, and validating end-to-end SAP S/4HANA Sales & Distribution (SD) solution architecture across core and satellite systems. This role acts as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for SAP HANA solution design within large transformation programs, ensuring scalable, future-ready, and business-aligned architectures.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Design Governance

• Serve as the SPOC for SAP S/4HANA solution designs across the program.
• Own and govern end-to-end (E2E) solution architecture covering SAP S/4HANA core, SD module, and integrated satellite systems (CRM, TM, EWM, MM, FI, third-party systems, etc.).
• Review existing E2E solution designs and validate whether the architecture is optimal, scalable, and future-ready for upcoming deployments and rollouts.
• Ensure alignment with SAP Best Practices, Clean Core principles, and enterprise architecture standards.

• Analyze current-state vs future-state architecture and recommend improvements or simplifications.
• Identify gaps, redundancies, or technical debt in existing solution designs and propose remediation strategies.
• Assist in making relevant updates to E2E architecture artifacts, including:
  • Solution architecture diagrams
  • Interface and integration design documents
  • Functional and technical design documents
  • Deployment and rollout architecture

• Provide deep functional expertise in SAP S/4HANA SD, including:
  • Order-to-Cash (O2C)
  • Pricing, rebates, and condition techniques
  • ATP / aATP
  • Delivery, shipping, billing, and invoicing
  • Output management and forms
• Guide teams on SD design decisions impacting performance, extensibility, and integration.

• Work closely with SAP Basis, Integration, ABAP, CPI/PI, and BTP teams to ensure cohesive solution design.
• Define integration patterns between S/4HANA and external systems (REST, IDoc, API-based integrations).
• Ensure compliance with security, performance, and data governance standards.

• Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and program leadership to translate business requirements into robust solution designs.
• Provide architectural guidance during build, test, deployment, and hypercare phases.
• Review and sign off on design changes, enhancements, and deviations.

• 15+ years of SAP experience, with significant hands-on expertise in SAP SD.
• Minimum 5+ years in SAP S/4HANA architecture or lead solution architect roles.
• Proven experience in large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementations, conversions, or global rollouts.
• Strong background in E2E solution design across SAP core and satellite systems.

• Expert knowledge of SAP S/4HANA SD and O2C processes.
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture, Clean Core, extensibility, and SAP Best Practices.
• Experience with SAP integrations (CPI, APIs, IDocs).
• Ability to create and maintain high-quality architecture and design documentation.
